CLIP project "INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION-THE GUARANTEE OF DEVELOPMENT OF LOCAL PRODUCTS" ( 21/05/2017 )



Cyprus Food and Nutrition Museum started from the 1st of September 2016 the implementation of the Erasmus+ KA2 project «International Cooperation: The Guarantee of Development of Local Products», co-financed by the EU .

PROJECT'S GOALS


The main goal of the  project is to educate local food producers , in order to equip them with knowledge and skills to effectively promote their products and expand their businesses. Specific goals are:
- Raise the level of ICT competence
- Getting skills in the use of online tools in the process of lifelong learning
- Learning through sharing experiences online - used in the promotion and distribution of regional products
- Raise the level of marketing skills that lead to the development of small local producers and service providers which in the future may result in creation of new jobs
- To enable a decision looking for a job in the market broadly understood local products (graduates of vocational schools)
- The increased popularity of organic local products
- Popularization and promotion of the production : herbs, cheese, honey, vegetables, fruit, meat, handicrafts at the local and international market
- Popularization of sourcing products that occur naturally as a source of additional income
- Establishing cooperation between schools enrolled in the agri-food sector and producers to familiarize young people with the production and possible traineeship.
- Establishing cooperation with local government

CYPRIOT PARTNER ACTIVITIES


The key action  of Cyprus was to  organize training workshops with the cooperation of local partners .

Target group was decided to be small and medium size food producers.

Seminars were to be presented by professionals of several specialties related to the topics that would be covered : i. Product quality certification and health control procedures. ii. Technology, networking, marketing and branding. iii. Funding sources and application procedures. iv. Alternative food and drink production-distribution chains.

In total 8 two day seminars were implemented  from January to March 2017 all over Cyprus. In total 400 persons were participated, while more than 40 professionals of several specialties voluntarily offered their services and presented the topics of the seminars  . Seminars were co funded by Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund.
